John lancaster
John is a Christian artist celebrated for his ability to illustrate the God-created beauty that exists all around us, through realistic original oil paintings. It has been said that his work creates a sense of peace and serenity. Hopefully, it will also create a sense of awe and appreciation for what God has provided us.
“My wife and I have traveled across the United States numerous times, camping along the way. Each time, we are amazed at the beauty we've seen. Unfortunately, the photos we have taken pale in comparison. That is one of the reasons I paint what the eye has beheld.”
John’s creative process involves the use of oil paint, its color and texture, to produce a sense of distance and mood. Each landscape, floral, and religious art tells a story and brings the viewer to a particular place and time.

THE PROCESS
Bringing an idea to life through art begins long before the first stroke is made.
Inspiration is everywhere, especially in nature. It seems to me that, with all the distractions, we find it hard to take the time, pause, and really see what God has provided to give us a sense of awe and peace. My hope is that my art, not only illustrates the beauty that surrounds us, but it inspires rest for the soul.
Every composition is a deliberate act, balancing form and feeling. My hope is that my art invites reflection and connection. Each piece should become more than visual—it should become an experience that resonates deeply, offering viewers a chance to pause, feel, and rediscover the God-created beauty clearly seen everywhere.
